The Impossible is a Spanish film production directed by Juan Antonio Bayona and written by Sergio G. Sanchez. This is the second collaboration between Bayona and Sanchez. Their first film, The Orphanage, won a Goya Award for best original script in 2008. The Impossible made its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
This film is based on the true story of a Spanish family that was vacationing in Thailand when the deadly tsunami of 2004 struck Southeast Asia. The film stars Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.
