Attention filmmakers!
In celebration of Latinx Month, SFO Video Arts and Film SF are partnering together this fall to curate a short film showcase of work by Latinx filmmakers with ties to the San Francisco Bay Area. This is an opportunity to feature your work to a global audience and we are thrilled to invite filmmakers to participate. Selected filmmakers will receive a $400 honorarium and their films will screen for about 4-5 weeks in the space from 8am-11pm. Submissions for the September program are now open and we encourage you to apply today!
SFO Museum’s Video Arts program presents short films from artists working at the leading edge of their craft in a variety of genres—narrative, animation, documentary, and experimental. The films are projected onto a 160” screen in a dedicated, state-of-the-art gallery space in the International Terminal Main Hall. The gallery is located prior to all security checkpoints and is accessible to millions of annual visitors. Video Arts currently presents a selection of four new films each month that are 15 minutes or less in duration. Please note that Video Arts does not program work that features overt sexual or violent content due to the public nature of the space.
Film SF, the San Francisco Film Commission, champions filming in San Francisco to support a diversity of storytellers and our thriving production community. In addition to overseeing and facilitating production activity in the City, we also sponsor local film and media organizations and our incentive, the Scene in San Francisco Rebate Program, awards up to $600,000 back to qualifying productions in fees paid to city agencies. We are thrilled to partner with SFO Video Arts and pilot this screening series that celebrates and recognizes the incredible local talent we have in San Francisco. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11:59pm.
