Today we mourn the passing of one of the brightest luminaries that has ever graced the silver screen. Elizabeth Taylor died this morning from heart complications at the age of 79.

She is an iconic beauty that will live on through her classic films and her survivor spirit. The silver-screen bombshell had no shortage of trials and tribulations.

Taylor lived through the extremes – joyful fame and fortune but also a brain tumor, numerous health complications and 8 marriages.

Through it all she managed to spearhead fundraising efforts for AIDS research, and founded The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

To one of the coolest divas of cinema, rest in peace.
